Property Sales
Under Alabama law, the Sheriff’s Office is required to conduct certain court-ordered sales of property, including property seized, levied upon, or otherwise ordered sold by a court. These sales are carried out in accordance with the Code of Alabama and the specific directives of the court.
In addition, the Sheriff’s Office may sell surplus or unneeded agency property as permitted by law. Such items are typically offered for public sale through approved platforms such as GovDeals.com.
Notice of sales is provided as required by law, often through publication in a local newspaper and/or public posting at the Calhoun County Courthouse or the Sheriff’s Office. All sales are conducted in compliance with state law and established procedures.
